This project features a “mill swapping” solution where a new MPS 200 BK mill will be erected adjacent to the existing mill and, during the plant’s shutdown, swapped out in order to reuse the existing mill’s foundation.

This project features a solution for the plant to reduce emissions in order to meet the NESHAP requirements. Gebr. Pfeiffer will upgrade the plant’s existing MPS 3450 raw material mill by installing a new grinding table, classifier, fan and cyclone along with other improvements.

This Project Profile features the Swing Mill Solution utilizing the MPS 2500 BC Vertical Roller Mill with SLS 2250 BC Classifier.

Gebr. Pfeiffer, Inc. will be supplying the MPS 2500 BC Clinker Swing Mill and MPS 112
BK coal mill in South America.

Gebr. Pfeiffer, Inc. will supply an SLS 800 BK Separator to Cementos San Marcos in Cali, Colombia. The
High Efficiency Separator will upgrade a refurbished Raymond coal mill, providing better product fineness, increased mill capacity and improved efficiency of the milling circuit. This newsletter also highlights the improved features of Gebr. Pfeiffer’s latest technology found in the new MVR Roller Mill with MultiDrive.

In Spring 2011, another Cement Plant in South America will benefit from installing a Gebr.
Pfeiffer SLV Separator. The company selected this solution to solve their need for grinding
pozollana to a 5% < 45 micron level of fineness in the most efficient, cost‐effective cost manner.

Gebr. Pfeiffer, Inc. was recently awarded a contract to supply a new MPS “Swing Mill” at the Cement
Plant for Cementos San Marcos SA. The plant is located near the company’s limestone and
derivatives quarry in Cobo Lloreda, north of Yumbo, Colombia. The unique advantage of the MPS
Swing Mill is that it can alternately grind both raw material and clinker using the same vertical roller
mill. This feature allows Cementos San Marcos to increase plant efficiency while reducing their
overall mill investment costs by providing them with the ability to grind different types of raw
materials and clinker, interchangeably, depending on their changing needs.
The photos, on the right, show a recent MPS 3070 BK coal mill which was pre‐assembled at the manufacturing facility where each fitting is marked appropriately before being delivered on‐site for erection. The mill pictured will be delivered and installed at a coal grinding plant in the United States.

Koniambo Nickel SAS, a joint venture between Xstrata Nickel (49%) and Société Minière du Sud
Pacifique ("SMSP") (51%), recently awarded Gebr. Pfeiffer, Inc. a contract to supply a limestone mill
and all peripheral plant equipment for its Koniambo Project.
